    Pat Cavendish O'Neill(Author)
Pat Cavendish O'Neil was born into a world of enormous riches, eccentricity and intrigue. Her mother, Enid Lindeman of the Australian wine family, was a famous beauty who married four times. Two husbands were millionaires, two had titles and none lived long. Somerset Maugham jokingly dubbed his dazzling friend Enid Lady Killmore but others, including Vanity Fair magazine, were less kind. Here Pat tells the story of her charmed life among the glittering names of the twentieth century - Woolworths heiress Barbara Hutton, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Gianni Agnelli, Princess Grace and the Hollywood crowd - and the day everything changed for her, when a lover in Africa presented her with a tiny lion cub and she entered a world more magical and inspiring than anything she had known before.

a captivating and lovely story about a growing up in a most extraordinary family with unbelieveable wealth, houses one can only dream about and a life surrounded by glamorous people and animals. Although the book jumps back and forward in time which is a bit irritatating I could not put it down. Well worth reading if just to see how the other half live

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, having travelled the south of France in summer before, it took me back to those long summer days and nights. Always admiring all the mansions and villas from a distance, it gave me an inside "view" of what it's like to live as the rich and famous. An easy read about the fascinating life of this remarkable woman who rescues animals and makes them her children. I love her.
